AMA MOTOCROSS 2012 LIVE
Summer is just around the corner and that means it’s time to kick off the 2012 Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship.
With Ryan Villopoto and Chad Reed missing from this season’s lineup, the championship title is wide open. Spectators will no doubt be looking to former champs Ryan Dungey and James Stewart to take the lead in this year’s championship. Dungey proved in the final races of the Supercross championship that he’s fully recovered from a broken collar bone sustained during a practice session. Stewart, although one of the fastest riders out there, is also the most unpredictable. After winning all 24 motos in the 2008 season, Stewart has only raced in one moto (placed third at Unadilla in 2010) since then.
There are plenty of other win-hungry riders besides these two to watch out for. Hot off successful Supercross performances, Justin Brayton, Davi Millisaps, Jake Weimer, and Brett Metcalfe, are all worthy podium contenders. Weimer, who wasn’t placed higher than fifth in motocross, is particularly keen on reaching the podium this year on his completely redesigned 2012 KX 450F . We’ll also see Tyla Rattray of South Africa making the move up from the 250 class to the 450 class with Monster Energy Kawasaki
